With 120 illustrations, including numerous photographs by Stieglitz as well as photographs and reproductions of artworks by others. The text is comprised of essays by William Carlos Williams, Gertrude Stein, Sherwood Anderson, Jean Toomer, et al. This copy is signed by Dorothy Norman, who not only helped to edit the book but contributed a 25-page essay titled "An American Place," Stieglitz's salon, in which he articulates his vision of photography.
