Everard, John
FOUR TITLES BY NUDE PHOTOGRAPHER JOHN EVERARD
The Bodley Head, London, 1956. John Everard, British First World War veteran and former tea planter, became well-known for his nude photography, that spanned a career from late 1920s until the early 1960s, churning out over a dozen books on the female (and sometimes male) form. Before the sexual revolution took hold, his books were a respectable way, under the guise of photographic study, for respectable folk to get what was (with the exception of the blossoming Playboy) otherwise regarded as "dirty books". All books are near fine at least - no names, inscriptions or bookplates. SCULPTOR'S MODEL: A THIRD SITTING. London: The Bodley Head, 1956. First edition.
