Los Angeles: County Museum of Art, 1988. Quarto. Original illustrated wrappers, titles to front cover and spine in yellow and blue. Very minor rubbing to corners, otherwise a lovely, bright copy. Illustrated throughout with mainly colour images. First edition, first impression. Inscribed on the half title in blue ink by Hockney, "For Michael, Love David H." Hockney has also added shading in black ink beneath his name. The recipient Michael Hogarth worked with Jerry Solomon Enterprises, a picture framing business in Los Angeles. It was here in 1965 that Jerry Solomon first began framing for David Hockney and to this day, the company handles all Hockney's framing. Published to coincide with the exhibition held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 4 February - 24 April, 1988, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 11 June - 14 August, 1988, and the Tate Gallery, 26 October, 1988 - 3 January 1989.
