Full crushed midnight blue morocco over beveled boards with elaborate gilt-rolled borders and gilt-tooled frame. Spine with five raised bands elaborately decorated and lettered in gilt in compartments. Gilt-ruled board edges, broad, gilt-rolled dentelles. Gilt-tooled red morocco doublures. Set into the front doublure is a fine oval miniature painting of Ludwg van Beethoven under slightly domed glass within a decorative gilt frame. Pale blue moiré silk flyleaves. Beveled edges. All edges gilt and gauffered. A very fine example. Housed in the original felt-lined, blue cloth slipcase, smooth spine lettered in gilt.
