Contemporary limp vellum (book block slightly slanted, sides rubbed). First Edition. This bilingual dictionary Spanish-Italian, the first of its kind in Spain, is also the second Spanish vocabulary after Nebrija's; it contains for the first time more than 200 new Spanish words. The success of the book was considerable and the work was republished about fifteen times until the beginning of the 18th century. This first edition, printed in Sevilla where the author lived, is very uncommom, and even if the Spanish collections reference about fifteen complete copies (cf. CCPB), the Italian collections only locate a very few copies, and WorldCat gives about ten references. Title page soiled, ink stain in the lower margin of two leaves (not affecting the text). Annotations and several passages underlined by a reader of the time, with a manuscript note crossed out on the title page: "A Salamanca fr.
