NEBRIJA (Antonio de).
Elegancias Romancadas. Muy necessarias para introduction de la lengua latina nuevamente corregidas y emendadas.
Antiquariae, in aedibus Aelii Antonii Nebrissensis, 1576. 4to. 112 leaves. Half calf, flat spine gilt in romatic style (binding circa 1830) This pedagogical work by the famous grammarian Antonio de Nebrija (1441-1522), is a collection of sentences of Spanish idiomatic expressions, printed in large gothic types, with their equivalences in Latin, printed in common types. This is the first book printed in the Andalusian city of Antequera where Nebrija's grandson, Elio Antonio Nebrija, set up a branch of the printing press founded by his grandfather in Granada. Quite modest copy: small wormtrack in the lower margin, small loss at the title page and last leaf, this one with a large angular loss, without affecting the text in a significative way. Palau, 189233: "Primer libro impreso en Antequera, en la imprenta del nieto de Nebrija". [Attributes: Hard Cover]
Bookseller: Librería Comellas [Barcelona, Spain]
