Very rare copper engraving by Pieter van der Aa. Published in the famous work 'La Galerie agreable du Monde'. View of the Dutch city of Leiden with decorative cadres. Only about 100 copies of this work were estimated to be published. From ' La galerie agreable du monde', published in Leiden 1729.Artists and Engravers: Pieter van der Aa was born 1659 in Leyden, Holland. He started his own book publishing business when he was twenty-three. Within fifty years in his business, he published a huge amount of highly decorative maps and atlases. His "Nouvel Atlas" was reissued by Covens & Mortier. He died 1733 in Leyden.Condition: Excellent. general age related toning. some light staining from handling.
