Berlin, 1881. One page, on printed letterhard, approx. 9 X 11-1/2 in. Writing as co-chairs for the Spring ball of the Berlin State Opera, the two conductors sign a formal request to a potential benefactor, offering a place of honor at the ball. Heinz Tietjen (1881-1967) was a longtime director of the Berlin State Opera and, later, the Bayreuth Festspielhaus; Bruno Walter (1876-1962) was among the most celebrated conductors of the twentieth century. Folded for mailing, slight mark, fine.
