This somptuous book is a catalogue detailing and reproducing the stunning art collection of Sigismond Bardac, a wealthy Parisian banker of the turn of the century. Splendidly illustrated throughout with 50 photogravures overlaid in color (some in pochoir), this book introduces the reader to one of the largest and most important collection of 15th-century plates, a rich assortment of pharmacy pots and vases, a Luca della Robbia terracotta medallion and bas relief, a tapestry, and a folding chair. The famous Morosini helmet (visored burgonet), said to have been designed by Paolo Rizzo, and which was owned by Vinzenzo Morosini is here also reproduced. Binding heavily rubbed along joints and raised bands. Plate 49 disbound but present. Text in French. Binding in overall good-, interior in very good condition. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
