Spelman, Henry
Glossarium Archaiologicum: Continens Latino-Barbara, peregrina, obsoleta, & novatae significationis VOCABULA; quae post labefactatas a Gothis, Vandalisq;, res Europaeas, in Ecclesiasticis, profanisq;.
Aliciam Warren, London, 1664. Folio. (12),576pp. Engraved frontispiece by R. White. Contemporary leather boards. Later rebacked (19th century?) with spine in six compartments, raised bands, gilt rules, leather lettering piece, gilt. The boards are cracked and edgeworn, spine with wear to the surface, and part of the lettering piece has been neatly replaced, title page remargined at an early date, else this is a very good copy in a sound binding. Text in double columns, woodcut initials; title page in red and black; text in Latin. Wing S4925. ESTC R14937. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
