The 1st edition of a major historical work (history of Bohemia since the first historical Bohemian prince) by Bohuslaus Balbinus, a famous Jesuit historian and writer. There are only five books in this copy; books 6 and 7, usually bound together with books 1-5, are missing. Nevertheless, four beautiful supplements are present: two engravings by Karel Skreta and Mathias Küssel, one engraving by Christian Vetter and Wolfgang Kilian (a well-known rose-shaped map of Bohemia) and a fold-out genealogical table. The book also contains six headpieces, seven initial letters and four tailpieces.
