MILNE, A. A. (1882-1956), [SHEPARD, Ernest H., illustrator].
When We Were Very Young.
London: Methuen and Co., 1924. [Children's classic]. FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.xii; 100. Profusely illustrated by Ernest Shepard. Second state of page ix. Publisher's dark blue cloth, blocked in gilt, top edge gilt, plain endpapers. Internally clean, endpapers faintly toned, discreet owner name to flyleaf. Binding rather clean and fresh, with a few minor creases to the cloth. A very good copy indeed. A book of verse, 'possibly' narrated by Christopher Robin, and including the first reference to Edward Bear, or 'Winnie the Pooh', who managed to usurp the second title in the four-book series, 'Winnie the Pooh'. [Attributes: First Edition]
Bookseller: Adrian Harrington [UNITED KINGDOM]
