HOBBES, Thomas
Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme, & Power of a Common-Wealth Ecclesiastical and Civill
Andrew Crooke, London, 1651. Extra engraved title page, [6], 396 pages with numerous mispaginations*. Folding table inserted before chapter one. Short folio (11.75 x 7.75 inches) handsomely rebound in period brown calf with blind-stamped boards and red leather spine label. London: Andrew Crooke, 1651. First edition, second printing with publisher's name misspelled "Ckooke" and title vignette of bear clutching foliage. Toning, scattered foxing, and a handful of inked marginalia throughout, but overall a very good(+) copy in a fine binding.
