Roosevelt, Theodore
THE WINNING OF THE WEST (GOP Convention Copy)
G. P. Putnam's Sons, NY, 1900. Four volume set, with special page bound-in Volume 1 to make a copy individually presented to delegates to the 1900 Republican National Convention (in Philadelphia) that renominated McKinley for President and newly nominated Roosevelt as Veep candidate. The page is printed in black and red ink, with the delegate's name in calligraphic hand with red capitals. The delegate in this case is Connecticut delegate Henry H. Bridgman of the prominent Bridgman family of Norfolk CT in Litchfileld County. 8vo, publisher's brown cloth, gilt-pressed teepee front and titles and rifle and bullhorn device to spine. Minor wear to spine tips, and the faintest of marginal stain - almost imperceptible - to a few front signatures in Vol 1 not affecting text. Otherwise, internals fine, almost as new. An uncommon variant of the first edition. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
Bookseller: Johnnycake Books ABAA, ILAB [Salisbury, CT, U.S.A.]
