Bodmer, Karl
Fort Clark on the Missouri (February 1834)
England, 1840. This listing is for a framed and matted colored aquatint and etching art print by Karl Bodmer entitled "Fort Clark on the Missouri (February 1834)", Tab 15. This original printing was created in the early 1840's, and is beautifully presented on a fabric matte with a wood frame. The print is 21 x 16.5 inches in the frame. This piece is in like new condition. The sketching for this piece was created by Bodmer originally in 1833-34 while travelling on the Missouri River with an expedition organized by Maximilian, Prince of Wied-Neuwied, which traveled around 5,000 miles over the course of the journey. The images, and Bodmer's account of the expedition, were kept by Bodmer in his notes, which were later published in London in around 1840. The four Bodmer pieces we have listed were displayed together and look great as a set (see pictures). [Attributes: First Edition]
