Peter Soyer Beagle (b. 1939) began writing while in high school, and his first novel, "A Fine and Private Place" was published when he was only nineteen. He would go on to be awarded the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement (2011) and was named Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master in 2018.
