Montreal: John Lovell, 1865. 8 parts. Published by John Lovell in Montreal in 1865. Fair condition only with worn wraps, spine wear, chips a few wraps detached. Staining in some issues. Noman was on of the finest photographers of the 19th Century with several studios including one at the Poland Spring Inn. Each issue has 5 or 6 actual photographs of famous Canadian men with biographies.Two copies of Part II. June, 1865. One copy has the front Wrap detached and pages foxed. The second copy is good with minor wear and stains.Part III, July, 1865. Front wrap detached, spine lacking. Foxed and light stains. Part IV, August,1865. Front wrap detached and interior has is stained.Part V, September, 1865. Spine mostly lacking, wraps and a few pages detached.Part VI, October, 1865. Wraps worn and a light stain on the base of 6 leaves.Part III, Second series, 1865. Pages stained from water and from pressing a leaf between the pages. One image lacking.Part IV, Second Series, 1868. Wraps worn, split and minor stains along the base of a few pages.A partial set of of this book of Canadian biographies.
