Nurnberg: Der Sturmer - Buchverlag, [1938]. 12mo - 7-11/16" x 4-13/16". Excessively rare promotional flyer for the anti-Semitic children's book "Der Giftpilz" (The Poisonous Mushroom) written by Ernst Hiemer with illustrations by Philipp Rupprecht ("Fips") and published by the notorious Julius Streicher and his Der Sturmer Buchverlag in Nuremberg, Germany in 1938. This four-color [4] pp. promotional flyer has the book's cover design replicated on p. [1]; pp. [2-4] of the flyer contain excerpts of the vile text and an insulting image from the book. Text from the flyer reads in part "The Poison Mushroom A Stormer's book for Young and Old The Book for German People . . . The book has set for itself the task of educating the entire German people on the greatest question of all time, the Jewish question. Anyone who wishes to convey knowledge about the Jew to others must know the Jew himself . . ." The book this flyer is advertising has been called the most horrible children's book ever published; both leaves with a minuscule 1/8" closed tear to lower edge. The condition of the promotional flyer is FINE. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE.
