From a limited edition of 750 signed copies, this being number 652. Additional inscription by General Omar Bradley on the title page: "To Bert Kalisch, With thanks for your assistance in selecting the pictures for this book, and for your help in the European Campaign. Omar N. Bradley." A unique association copy. The recipient of this book, Colonel Bertram Kalisch, was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as the principle information officer for General Omar Bradley, then General Douglas MacArthur after V-E Day. Colonel Kalisch supervised the photography and movie crews at the Japanese surrender ceremonies aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. He assisted General Bradley in compiling the photography for this book, where they became lifelong acquaintances. General Bradley attended the retirement ceremonies for Colonel Kalisch.
