[Poster Art]
Germany, 1937. Paperback. Good + overall. A long, broken run of this German publication, replete with over 100 full color illustrations printed on special paper. These color illustrations are essentially Germany color printers exhibiting their best work and are replete with Art Deco, German & international poster art, "primarily focused on the creativity of the Bauhaus and other representatives of the avant-garde." (Wikipedia). Still published today, "Novum - World of Graphic Design" has existed since 1924. By 1926... "the magazine had blossomed into a "monthly magazine for the promotion of artistic advertising", according to the founder K.H. Frenzel... he maintained connections in Europe and the USA as a board member of the "Association of German Commercial Graphics". So the magazine was able to report on worldwide developments. The magazine portrayed the Russian constructivist El Lissitzky and the American designer Edward McKnight Kauffer, along with other artists." [Wikipedia entry under Novum (Zeitschrift)] The issues were intially listed by the year of publication, ie Jahrgang I (1925) , III (1926), IV (1927), and then just by years.
