This oblong folio consists of 138 engravings by Pietro Santi Bartoli and Giacomo Lauro, illustrating the palazzi, churches, monuments, arenas, statues, and public scenes of Rome in the 17th century, with explanatory text. Originally engraved by Lauro for a 1637 publication, the plates were adapted by Santi Bartoli, who added 16 more to make up this set. [Smithsonian]. 1302904.
