Chromolithographed folding map, printed on both sides. xxv, [3], 149, [v]pp. Scarce Missouri Emigration and Railroad Pamphlet. "My aim has been to present, as concisely as possible, those characteristics of soil, climate, undeveloped resources, etc. in regard to each county, best calculated to inform and direct the inquiring capitalist and immigrant seeking our hospitable State, in search of opportunities to make profitable investments or to found permanent homes" (Preface). The folding chromolithographed map is titled "Map of the Missouri Pacific and St. Louis and San Francisco Railways and their Principal Connections"; the verso is a black-and-white outline map titled "Correct Map of the State of Missouri" and includes the names of the engravers Woodward, Tiernan and Hale. Scarce. A German edition was issued in the same year.
