Printer's device on title page. Palimpsest vellum spine over marbled paper covered boards. All edges tinted red. Occasional marginalia in an old hand (Latin) with some loss to trimming during an early rebinding. Former owner's inscription to ffep "Ex libris belliducis Rottiers, Antr., A. 1839." Light damp staining throughout. All edges worn. From the library of Joseph A. Sadony, with his blind stamp at top of title page. The chronicles of Froissart have been considered, for centuries, as the ultimate expression of the chivalric rebirth of France and England in the fourteenth century, as well as a valuable source of information about the Hundred Years War.
