Rickenbacker, Capt. Edward V.
Frederick A. Stokes Company, New York, 1919. Association copy of the first edition of the personal memoir about the 94th Aero Squadron "who did so much to put the Germon von Richthofen's Flying Circus out of business," the copy of pilot LeRoy Prinz, with Rickenbacker's signature additionally tipped in. While the book has markings of a library copy, a faint stamp on the title page marks it as the former property of the research library of Twentieth Century Fox. All around, a copy with an interesting and appealing provenance. 7.25'' x 4.75''. Original full blue cloth, orange lettering. In original unclipped ($2.00) color pictorial dust jacket. Photographic frontispiece portrait of Rickenbacker. xii, 371, [1] pages. Bookplate of LeRoy J. Prinz on front pastedown; inscription by Rickenbacker (to different recipient, dated 1966) tipped onto front endpaper. Scarce dust jacket extensively reinforced on verso with tape; the strengthening seems to have done its job with only minimal edgewear to jacket. Book with shelf mark on spine (also on jacket) and slightly effaced stamp "Research Library / T … [Cliquez ci-dessous pour une description complète]
