Sir Thomas Hudson Beare was the first Professor of Mechanics and Engineering at Heriot Watt University; then in London and at Edinburgh University (1859-1940) VG++ condition. Tight binding. Text clean & clear. No annotations in text. Covers VG for age but sl. browned at edges, spine sl. bumped at head/tail but not worn. Some sl. foxing round end-papers' edges and front fep browned, as with spine. A scarce item of a fundamental and personalised work by an important scientist, mathematician and engineer.
