Very good with wear at the edges, bumping at the corners and a few small tears. Laid in is a Typed Letter Signed by the author to a friend dated January 9, 1950. A report by Rabbi Louse Barish concerning a visit to the newly formed Israel written in December 1949. The report includes description of life, how new immigrants are received and processed into the new country, the political and military situation, how Kibbutzim and the Moshav are working. A real, firsthand look at the country, the people, their problems and successes. Barish was a Army Chaplain who worked with Jews that remained in Germany after WWII and wrote the book, *Rabbis in Uniform: A Century of Service to God and Country 1862-1962*. *OCLC* locates no copies.
