18 Paris IV. 70 [Exhibition Poster]
New York: International General / Seth Siegelaub, 1970. First edition. 15 x 20 1/2" poster, offset litho in blue on white coated paper stock. The rare poster for the 1970 exhibition of male conceptual artists, curated by Michel Claura and published by Seth Siegelaub. The exhibition was held at a temporary exhibition space on Rue Mouffetard in April of that year. For the exhibition, Claura solicited concepts from each of the artists, and then collected the proposals and sent them to each artist, each of whom then were able to alter their plans. The publication documents both the initial and revised concepts. The 18 artists who participated were Robert Barry, Marcel Broodthaers, Stanley Brouwn, Daniel Buren, Jan Dibbets, Jean-Pierre Djian, Gilbert & George, François Guinochet, Douglas Huebler, On Kawara, David Lamelas, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long, Edward Ruscha, Robert Ryman, Niele Toroni, Lawrence Weiner, and Ian Wilson. A near fine example, machine-folded twice, with some moderate foxing which seems endemic to this poster. Very scarce, especially in this condition.
