George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd, London, 1940. An ADVANCE PRROF COPY of the scarce first impression of the first illustrated edition of Cranford, published by George G. Harrap & Co. No inscriptions. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper that has not been price-clipped, showing original publisher's price of 10/6 net. Edges of dustwrapper just slightly rubbed, nicked and creased. Tiny loss to the head of the spine of the dustwrapper. Bottom of spine of dustwrapper slightly creased where the book has been bumped. No tears. Spine of dustwrapper unfaded - just slightly browned. 256 pages. 222mm x 148mm. ***'In the first place, Cranford is in possession of the Amazons; all the holders of houses above a certain rent are women. if a married couple come to settle in the town, somehow t … [Click Below for Full Description]
