Includes 7 black and white illustrations after photographs.The biography of suffragist and abolitionist Lucy Stone written by her daughter, Alice Stone Blackwell, herself a feminist and suffragist.The copy of suffragist, concert pianist and later the general manager (1921-1931) of Stone's suffrage periodical, The Woman's Journal (renamed The Woman Citizen).A remarkable association copy owned by the suffragist who managed the suffrage periodical Lucy Stone helped to found.A very good copy with tanning to the spine; chipping to the head and foot; a start to the top of the front joint. Ray Brown's (Gertrude Foster Brown's husband) engraved bookplate on the front pastedown, with Gertrude Foster's ownership signature above. The remnants of a penciled note on the ffep, and offsetting where the note was tipped in. A surprisingly scarce title. [Attributes: First Edition]
