Mon Oncle (Original French Film Program)
Paris: Gaumont, 1958. Original French program for the 1958 film. The director's second of four films featuring the inimitable "Monsieur Hulot". In this chapter, Hulot strays from his rather ordinary Paris neighborhood and into a modern, suburban one, where technological chaos reigns. A delightfully designed program, with four 5.5 x 4.25 inch color stills from the film tipped in amongst the text and line illustrations. Tall card wrappers in with a modernist die-cut at the bottom of the front panel that reveals the film's title, saddle-stitched, 8-pages, with a laid-in card reporting early reviews from the French press. 12 x 9.5 inches. Fine condition. A unique piece from the third of Tati's five masterpieces,, winner of the Prix du Jury at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. Criterion Collection 111. Ebert II. Rosenbaum 1000.
