Printed on fine, hand-made, Batchelor (with the second version of the Primrose watermark) paper. Uncut. Colophon. [ii], 1, [i] 68, [viii] pp. Printed in black and red in the Golden type designed by William Morris. Head-title and shoulder-notes in red. Numerous 6- and 4-line woodblock initial capitals designed by William Morris for his press, engraved by William Harcourt Hooper. Morris used his four-line initials for this first time with this, his first book printed in the 16mo format. From the colophon on page 68: "This paper, first spoken as a lecture at the New Gallery, for the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society, in the year 1889, was first printed by the Kelmscott Press during the Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the New Gallery, Regent Street, London, 1893.
