Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis Supports the Movement to Aid American Jews and Bring Others to the United States
19/02/1937. Louis Brandeis was the first Jew to sit on the Supreme Court. He also supported the movement to support American Jews in the United States the Avukah organization, which promoted a Jewish homeland in Palestine.In 1937 and 1938 Jacob Billikopf dedicated himself full-time to bringing European Jewish refugees into the United States. Following World War II he served on the Clemency Board in Washington which was established to review court martial sentences.Autograph letter signed, 1937, on Supreme Court Letterhead, to Jacob Billikoff.
