JOYCE, James
Random House, New York, 1934. Octavo, 767pp. A bright, clean, fine copy with a fresh maroon topstain and none of the usual foxing to the beige cloth. Hinges strong. In a very near fine first-issue dust jacket (with Reichl's name at the bottom right corner of the front panel), bearing a few forgiveable closed tears at the extremities, a very small clear tape repair at the top corner of the front flap fold. Spine entirely unfaded, and the red ink on spine as vibrant as that on the front panel. There is a nearly invisible dampstain at the bottom of the front panel, which is only barely detectable on the verso. This is the first authorized American edition of Joyce's magnum opus, which many still regard as the greatest novel ever written. An exceptionally nice example, with no signs of restoration. Grolier 100; Slocum & Cahoon A21. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
Bookseller: Cleveland Book Company, IOBA [Lakewood, OH, U.S.A.]
