Publisher's green limp cloth, brown lettering and decoration to the spines and boards, small later circular book label to the front pastedown with another owner's even more discreet book label to the rear, later pale green slipcase. A few hinges tender but holding, spines somewhat darkened, else very good. Edel and Laurence, A20. The first time the author's works had been collected in a uniform edition. The bibliographers describe the primary binding as being in royal blue cloth with another issue published simultaneously in "cream-white stiff paper wrappers". This is one of the slightly smaller issues in the secondary binding published that same year, also appearing in "flexible cloth" of salmon, ochre, cream and other colours. Variant issues with dates up to 1887 were also published.
