Fantasia: 18 of the First 20 Issues
Los Angeles: Lucian Press/Domestic Relations, 1962. Original wraps. Very Good +. A wonderful run of 18 of the first 20 issues of Fantasia, a discipline and spanking-themed magazine that began in the late 1950s and ran through the early 60s. We're here offering Vols. 1-5, Vols. 7-16 and Vols. 18-20 (missing only Vols. #6 and #17). All the volumes are crisp and bright and VG+ to Near Fine in their stapled pictorial wrappers. Very light creasing at a number of the panel edges and light wear along several of the spines. They remain though uniformly attractive and presentable, and, internally, they're all as clean as could be, with no writing or markings of any kind. 7 of the 18 covers are illustrated by the great Gene Bilbrew, the pioneering African-American cartoonist and illustrator (1923-1974), also known as "the first black career fetish artist in history". Vols. 1-14 digest-sized, Vols. 15-20 larger format, a more conventional, quarto-sized magazine. [Attributes: First Edition]
