An excellent copy. Title page and contents head vignettes and 54 full page illustrations by Bakst plus the lithographed portrait of Bakst by Picasso, all with titled tissue guards. Tchaikovsky's ballet, based on the Brothers Grimm version of Charles Perrault's tale of the Sleeping Beauty, was premiered in Moscow in 1891. The 1921 production in London had choreography by Serge Diaghilev and costume and set designs by Bakst. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Soft Cover]
