VON MISES, Ludwig] BIEN, Bettina
The Works of Ludwig von Mises
Foundation for Economic Freedom, 1970. SIGNED by von Mises, an invaluable contribution to Misesian scholarship, this bibliography was originally presented to von Mises on the occasion of his 80 birthday. "But as soon as it went to print, I was dissatisfied with it because I had found some omissions" (Bien). Bien, von Mises' student, assistant, and friend, revised it to include "not only Mises's published works in all languages, but crucial passages from contemporary reviews of Mises's works, including reviews in German, French, and Spanish. I had help with the Italian, and the Czech I left only in titles, but the rest I did myself" (Bien). Prepared with the assistance of von Mises himself, this is the first revised edition of his works until Dec. 1969. "However," Bien writes in her Introduction, "even Dr. Mises cannot say for sure whether or not there are omissions." Essential for any von Mises collector and RARE signed by him. A splendid example. Book #P2102. $1898. We specialize in Rare Ayn Rand, history, and science. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Soft Cover]
