Full contemporary or 18th century polished calf, restored and repaired to the base and top of the spine, with the original title label and gilt decoration, with six raised bands. Library stamp to the title page not other library marks. Internally with new front and rear end papers and repairs to the first 66 pages or up to page 10, one wormhole continues to page 129, worming present in the 400 s see images, the 500 s but all restricted to the margin or the gutter and none impacting the text. Illustrated with VI engraved full page plates and illustrations and tables in the text. All text complete with some mis-pagination 404, 407 but text correct; 566, 573, 574, 569, 570, 571, 572, 567, 568, 575 .all text present but pages bound in wrong order; 770, 773 correct text; 780, 779 and repeats but all text present; 788, 786, 788, 791 all text correct. The British Library English Short Title Catalogue brings up the following title in English: The compleat chymical dispensatory, in five books: treating of all sorts of metals, precious stones, and minerals, of all vegetables and animals, and things that are taken from them, as musk, civet, &c. how rightly to know them, and how they are to be used in physick; with their several doses.
