George Orwell
Nineteen Eighty-Four
Secker & Warburg, London. 1st printing with 'First Published 1949' stated at copyright page [Fenwick A12a] in publisher's original pale green matt cloth with titles and ruling to spine in red - a much better copy than most we've seen still all fresh, clean and bright with just a hint of fading occasionally at spine. The binding is sound, tight and square with rose top stain to page block still fresh and bright. Internally also fresh and clean with no inscriptions or other marks. The original 1st state green variant unclipped dustjacket [there is also a plum variant with no priority] has benefitted from some limited but high quality, professional restoration carried out by a leading paper conservator. An excellent example of this classic dystopian novel. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
Bookseller: London Rare Books, PBFA [London, United Kingdom]
