Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the half-title page in the year of publication, "For Scott Fuchs with thanks and best wishes Thomas Harris August/ 88." Fine in a fine dust jacket. Jacket illustration by Frank Morris. Laid in is a letter from the publisher. Harris's second novel to feature the character of Hannibal Lecter is "a virtual textbook on the craft of suspense" (Washington Post). It went on to win the Bram Stoker Award and is without a doubt one of the best in the genre of thriller fiction.
