Originally written in 1895 as a tribute to Leander Starr Jameson, leader of the Jameson Raid against the Boers in southern Africa in 1895-96. Original paper covered boards, string-tied, printed in red and black, oblong 12mo measuring 4 3/8 " h x 6 1/2" w, blank end papers and eight double leaves printed one side and with red decorative borders. A lovely gift-quality Near Fine copy, contemporary prior owner inscription front paste down, a few small spots of toning front end papers, small surface tears top and bottom rear joints. .
