Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 16.5 x 10.6 inch. The image size is ca. 13.9 x 7.9 inch.Set of 52 antique prints, on 22 sheets. Untitled. The collected etched works of Karel Dujardin. This includes all his charming animal and landscape etchings (which show horses, donkeys, cows, goats and sheep). The animals are always placed within Italianate landscapes. The remaining etchings display landscapes, architecture, and some figure studies, as well as a fiddler with dancing dogs and a shepherd playing a flute for his girl. A complete collection of all 52 etchings including the original wrapper! Published after 1742, but certainly an 18th century impression, possibly published by Gerard Valck.Artists and Engravers: Made by Karel Dujardin after own design. Karel Dujarin (1622-1678) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and etcher. He spent two extensive periods in Italy, and his work is heavily influenced by this. Most of his paintings and landscapes have an Italianate setting. He was supposedly trained by Nicolaes Berchem, before going to Italy where he joined the Bentvueghels group.Condition: A very good set, given age. Two of the sheets have a stain in the right edge (affecting the image). One of the sheets has a crease from the right to the lower margin.
