Trollope, Anthony
[Works] (in 30 vols)
London: Ward, Lock and Co, 1893. Thirty small octavo volumes (6 15/16 x 4 9/16 inches; 178 x 116 mm.). Uniformly bound ca. 1893 by Rivière for Sotheran's. Three quarter tan calf over marbled boards, ruled in blind. Spines with five raised bands, decoratively tooled in gilt in compartments, red and olive green morocco labels lettered in gilt, matching marbled end-papers, marbled edges. A Near Fine set. With Trollope first editions remaining exceptionally scarce in trade, acquiring an early set is a fantastic way for collectors to include his works in their libraries. The present set, uncommon in its own right, also includes some of the rarest of Trollope's titles. In full the set includes: Single Novels: The Macdermots of Ballycloran (1847); The Kellys and the O'Kellys (1848); La Vendée: An Historical Romance (1850); The Bertrams (1859); Castle Richmond (1860); Orley Farm (1862); Rachel Ray (1863); Miss Mackenzie (1865); The Belton Estate (1866); He Knew He Was Right (1869); The Vicar of Bullhampton (1870); Sir Harry Hotspur of Humblethwaite (1871); Ralph the Heir (1871). Palliser Novels: Can You Forgive Her? (1865); Phineas Finn (1869); The Eustace Diamonds (1873); Phineas Redux (1874); The Prime Minister (1876); The Duke's Children (1880). Short Stories: Tales of All Countries - 1st Series (1861); Lotta Schmidt & Other Stories (1867); Mary Gresley and An Editor's Tales (1873); Harry Heathcote of Gangoil (1874); Lady Anna (1874); Is He Popenjoy?
