Everitt ("The Kurnel"), Simon
Tales of Wild Turkey Hunting
William C. Hazelton, Chicago, 1928. Blue cloth with gilt titles and cover decoration; 12mo; 128pp; illustrated with photo frontispiece plus 10 others (all tinted) plus 1 full-page drawing at rear; edited by William H. Ball. "One of the true classics of the sport written by a North Carolinian who did some guiding, hunted with dogs, developed a highly unusual call and was present when the Wright Brothers made their first flight at Kitty Hawk. Extremely rare and desirable. Value $1,000-$1,500" (Casada #64) Casada mentions there were two different color bindings-red and blue, so this must be the variant! This copy in good to very good condition. Spine titles lightly faded with minor wear at ends and along edges. The covers do have some darker staining, more so on the front panel. Internally the text block is clean and all plates bright. Still, a decent copy of a scarce book. Along with "Fred Kimble: Master Duck Shot of the World" they are the most sough-after Hazelton publications. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
