London Blackader; Cadell -1811, 1807. 9 vols, 4to; extra-illustrated with over 1,100 portraits, maps, views etc., some hand coloured in part, some cropped in order to fit, vols i, ii, v, vii & viii with additional vignette titles (somewhat foxed due to different paper), occasional foxing and dust-soiling, some marginal closed tears, a few chipped corners but in the main very good; contemporary full calf, roll-tooled ornamental borders in gilt and blind within triple gilt fillets, spines ornately gilt in compartments, raised bands, gilt lettering direct, inner dentelles gilt, skilfully rebacked preserving original spines, an impressive set. A very handsomely bound set, extra illustrated with often quirky and rather more interesting illustrations than originally intended but still contemporary to the publication. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
