Photo Album]: 1937 Touring Photo Album of Mexico and Central America
Mexico and Central America, 1937. Octavo. Black leather spiral photo album measuring 9.5" x 7.5". An assortment of 147 sepia toned photographs measuring 3" x 5" and affixed to stiff black paper. Very good with curling on the boards, rubbing, and tiny tears. Most of the 147 photographs were taken during a trip through Mexico and Central America. Depicted are the sights of Latin America, palm trees, sombreros, mountains, a tented bizarre, and a hike through a rain forest. The tour participants can be seen in fedoras posing with locals and enjoying the atmosphere. One photo shows a group of local children hanging a large lizard upside down, which apparently was extremely hilarious based on their facial expressions, not so much for the reptile. Additionally, there are 21 non-trip related photos and postcards from places in Arkansas and North Carolina toward the rear of the album. An interesting accumulation of trip photographs documenting 1930s Latin America. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
