New York: Random House, 1933. First Edition. First Edition, not to be confused with the signed limited edition published the same year. INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper with a line from the play: "For Keith Baker - / 'Somewhere out on the long trail' / Eugene O'Neill / Dec. '38." Basis for three adaptations -- the 1935 MGM film starring Walter Beery and Lionel Barrymore, with a young Mickey Rooney in a supporting role, the 1948 Rouben Mamoulian musical "Summer Holiday," with Mickey Rooney now as the lead, and the 1959 Broadway musical "Take Me Along," with a Tony award winning performance by Jackie Gleason in the drunken uncle role Beery originated. Near Fine in a Very Good plus dust jacket. Jacket toned at the spine and flap folds, with some minor nicking to the extremities. In a custom slipcase.
