Charles Russell
Good Medicine: The Illustrated Letters of Charles M. Russell (In Its Original Slipcase)
Doubleday, Doran & Company, Garden City, New York. A handsome copy of the 1930 stated 1st printing, following "the printing of 134 De Luxe copies". Tight and Near Fine in its beige cloth, with bright gilt-rule and pictorial leather label to the front panel and spine. Small former owner name and date at the first blank endpaper, otherwise clean as could be internally, with no writing or other markings of any kind. And in a crisp, price-intact ($5.00), VG+ example of the uncommon dustjacket, with light chipping (about 1") at the foot of the spine. Apart from the small chip, the jacket is bright and very presentable. Tall quarto, Foreword by Will Rogers. "These letters of the famous American artist (Charles Russell) are printed in intaglio and include a frontispiece in six colors, sixteen pages of drawings reproduced in seven colors, forty-eight pages in four colors and eighty in black-and-white." (from the dustjacket's front cover). Also includes a solid example of the publisher's original card slipcase, which shows light offsetting along and near the spine. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
