FIRST EDITION 1821, 12mo, 180 x 105 mm, 7 x 4¼ inches, 16 very good attractive HAND COLOURED half page woodcut illustrations showing 2 or 3 figures from all over the world in various settings with verse text beneath, printed 1 side only. In John Harris's Cabinet of Amusement and Instruction with 1 page of adverts at rear. In the original buff printed wrappers, upper cover reproducing the title page and Harris's round logo on lower cover. Spine worn with 60 mm (2¼") split at tail, slightly rubbed near lower edge of upper cover, slight marks near top edge and small crease to top corner, all corners just slightly worn, 3 tiny pale marks to sky of 1 illustration, pale spotting to 2 lower margins, otherwise contents bright and clean. A very good copy. The illustrations show Laplanders, Greenlanders, Negroes, North and South American Indians, Tahitians, Egyptians, Persians, Chinese, Turks and various Europeans.
