Rosamond Johnson, as well as additional numbers by Lawrence Brown and a 40-page preface by Johnson. Blockson 7944. A presentation copy, inscribed: "Ring W. Lardner - with sincere regards - James Weldon Johnson," on the front free endpaper. Lardner, the noted sports columnist and short story writer, who influenced the writing of Ernest Hemingway and applied his singular touch to his era’s icons like Joe Louis and Satchel Paige, was a close friend of F.
